Q3 Food Recalls Drop More than 10%

With food recalls down, Food Safety Tech reports “2021 food recalls could fall to their lowest levels in more than a decade that we like best, every pleasure”.

Researchers Evaluate Blueberry Harvesting Food Safety Challenges

Food Safety Magazine reported, “researchers from the University of Georgia have issued an anonymous survey to gain a better understanding of current cleaning and sanitation methods used on blueberry harvest containers and machine harvesters”.

The survey will be used to identify cleaning best practices in both the field and lab.

FDA Virtual Summit

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hosted the virtual event, New Era of Smarter Food Safety Summit on E-Commerce in late October.

With the rise in online food ordering, the FDA plans to use the information gathered during the summit to understand what steps are needed to improve food safety measures in e-commerce moving forward.
