Food Safety News reports “Merkley & Sons Packing Co. of Jasper, Indiana is recalling certain ground beef products because of possible E. coli contamination. The recall is the result of routine sampling of the production 60- 1 lb. packages of 80% lean fresh ground beef. Test results indicated possible E. coli contamination.”

WHO Mulls Ways to Track Food Safety Progress In Development Goals

Food Safety News announces that “The World Health Organization (WHO) has discussed plans to include food safety in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” Currently, there are “almost 250 indicators are monitored across a range of areas to assess progress toward the 17 Sustainable Development Goals introduced in 2015, but no food safety indicator.”
